The Matching Transformer
The nominal impedance at a screwdriver antenna base is around 23 Ohms.
A High-Q toroid transformer is used to raise the low antenna impedance for the normal 50 Ohm transmission line. It is mounted inside the motor tube base and is completely weather sealed.
